Capturing these car wash engagement photos for Brendi and Carlo was an experience I won’t forget! We planned this session at EZ Self Service Car Wash in Old Bridge, New Jersey and it was an absolute blast. 

Brendi & Carlo and I have been following each other for awhile, and become online friends! We finally met at a styled shoot, and we definitely all fangirled over each other and instantly clicked. These two are the sweetest couple, and are always down for my crazy, fun ideas like taking photos at Dave & Buster’s or walking around Somerville in alien masks. 

As their wedding approached, Brendi told me that instead of using table numbers they were doing photos from their different shoots to categorize the tables, which I loved! She was still needing one for a table with Carlos’ guy friends, who all shared a passion for cars and she remembered seeing similar photos on Pinterest. We knew this was the perfect idea for the session!

I ran to the store to grab buckets, sponges, and clothes to add some details to the photos, and make sure we could actually clean the car! The car was basically Carlo’s first love until Brendi came along, making this session even more special. I’m so glad we chose such a unique theme for their engagement photos!

What You Need for Car Wash Engagement Photos

Here are some things to consider if you’d like to do your own car wash engagement photos! 

• The car: The car makes a big statement so if you don’t personally have one that would work for your session, you could consider borrowing one! Find a friend or family member with a great car that wouldn’t mind you using it, and getting it back nice and clean! 
• The clothes: You do want to make sure what you are wearing makes sense for the vibe of a car wash, which will probably mean staying casual! Wear something simple since there will be a lot going on in the photos, and you don’t want the clothes to be distracting. I love the idea of t-shirts, denim shorts, khaki shorts for the men, and some sneakers. 
• The supplies: You definitely need to come prepared with supplies! Bring along some sponges, rags, a bucket or two, soap, big towels, and you may want a change of clothes as well. 

This is a session that should be SO fun, so just embrace it and enjoy every moment!
