If you want non-traditional engagement photos, plan a Halloween-themed session! Brendi and Carlo took their love story on a spooky adventure with an alien-themed engagement shoot.
Halloween Engagement Photos
When Brendi and Carlo reached out for a Halloween-themed couples shoot, I was SO excited. Unique and adventurous ideas always inspire me, and their vision for a spooky engagement session was no exception. We roamed the town as if aliens had landed, making stops at cool places like The Spotted Leaf and Grumpy Bobas to capture their love in the most fun, eerie way. The undeniable star of the session was their charming pup, whose playful energy made the shoot one for the books!
Where to Take Halloween Engagement Photos
To set the perfect backdrop for your Halloween engagement photos, consider these spooky locations:
Abandoned Places – For a haunted, quirky vibe, look for abandoned places in the town. Any building, like an old bungalow or arena, would work!
Graveyards – For the truly bold, nothing sets a more daring scene than a graveyard or cemetery. Just remember, you may need a permit and be respectful to the graves of course!
Building Ruins – The old ruins of theaters or crumbling buildings set the perfect stage for mysterious Halloween engagement photos that also add a pinch of vintage touch.
Foggy Forest – Create a magical and eerie setup with the love of your life in deep, foggy woods. You can add creative props using tree shadows and branches.
What to Wear for Halloween Engagement Photos
Besides the backdrop, a cool costume can always level up the session! Here are a few fun ideas to give you some inspiration.
Headgear and Masks – Transform even basic costumes with a pumpkin or alien head mask, just like Brendi and Carlo did.
Classic Black Outfits – For a timeless + spooky look, think about incorporating all black outfits. A long black lace dress or solid suit with vintage accessories can create a huge statement in your photos.
Ghosty and Witchy Vibes – Pair flowy, mystical attire with hats and broomsticks to create a hauntingly + aesthetic shoot.
Themed Costumes – Channel your inner Hollywood fan by dressing up as your favorite horror movie characters or villains.
Cozy Autumn Outfits – For a simple and chic look, put on your favorite fall attire and accessories with dark-colored scarves and boots, and instead incorporate some spooky props.
