It really is the perfect place to explore for an engagement session, as there are an endless amount of opportunities for photos that give you a variety of backdrops.
The university is a popular location for photos, as it is filled with unique and historic architecture that create a stunning background. Or you can opt to explore the city, as we did, and even make a stop at a favorite bar or restaurant. If you’re wanting a classy and sophisticated session with unique backdrops, Princeton is a perfect option here in New Jersey!

There’s no shortage of locations around Princeton to explore with your partner and capture gorgeous engagement photos! But here are a few of my favorites.
Princeton Palmer Square
This is where we spent most of our time for this session and it fit exactly what these two had in mind for their engagement photos! It’s right across the street from Princeton University and is filled with fun shops and restaurants. There’s so many unique buildings, giving you so many fun backdrops!
Princeton University
The university is a popular spot for engagement photos, and that’s because it’s filled with both natural beauty and historic charm. Nassau Hall is one of the most popular spots with the iconic architecture, as well as the Clio and Whig buildings. You have so many opportunities for unique backdrops around the campus and all of them create a really romantic setting.
A bar or restaurant
Visiting a favorite bar or restaurant is always a fun idea! Palmer Square has many to choose from, and why not enjoy a favorite drink or meal with your partner while capturing some fun photos?
Explore the city
It was so much fun to just walk around and explore for this session in Princeton! We found so many cute spots to stop at and capture photos and it made the whole session more of an experience. Princeton really is the perfect city to just adventure in!
